Detour on Route #33 Manitou Shuttle  
Friday thru Sunday August 15th - 17th 2014

Route #33 Manitou Shuttle:  On Friday, 15 Aug 14 the Manitou Shuttle will detour as follows due to road closures associated with the setup for the Pikes Peak Ascent (16th) and the Pikes Peak Marathon (17th):

Inbound from the COG Railway at Manitou Ave & El Paso Blvd:

Continue eastbound on Manitou Ave

Left turn on Old Man’s Trail

Right turn in to the 1st driveway of the Tajine Alami restaurant (angle the coach in)

Exit the next driveway to Old Man’s Trail

Left turn on Old Man’s Trail to the shuttle stop.

Note:  On Saturday and Sunday, 16 & 17 Aug 14 the Manitou Shuttle (Route 33 and Route 33A) will not begin service until 8 a.m. (Route 33) and 810am (Route 33A).  This delay is due to street closures associated with both the Ascent & Marathon.

Detour on Route #3 Manitou Springs on
Saturday, 16 August and Sunday, 17 Aug 2014

The #3 route will detour due to the Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon.  The detour will last from 430 a.m. until approx 800 a.m.

#3 Manitou Springs:  Outbound from the terminal at Manitou Ave and Garden of Gods Place (just east of the Manitou Pool):

  • Right turn on Garden of Gods Place
  • Left turn on El Paso Blvd
  • Left turn on Mayfair Ave
  • Left turn on Manitou Ave.  Stop and hold at the first bus stop across from the Chamber of Commerce until scheduled departure time.

After 8 a.m. on the inbound trip from the end of the line route 3 will hold west of the Ruxton Ave traffic circle until directed to proceed by Manitou PD (outbound side of the circle).

Mountain Metro Rides is partnering with local bike shops to organize a Citizen Spoke Ride on Thursday, August 21, 2014 for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. Bike rides will be coordinated from different areas of Colorado Springs into Acacia Park where free bike valet service will be available.
