This year marks the 21st annual Mountain Metro Rides Bike to Work Day, and will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 25. Mark your calendar and plan to join us for this fun community event!
Bike to Work Day Mission Statement
Inspiring the Pikes Peak region’s cycling community by encouraging the use of bicycles as transportation, promoting safe riding habits and decreasing the barriers that the general public perceives to becoming a cyclist.

Corporate Challenge & One-on-one Team Challenges
Last year over 40 companies had riders participate in Corporate and Team Challenges. The City of Colorado Springs, Colorado Springs Utilities, El Paso County, Colorado Springs Fire Department, Colorado Springs Police Department, and all branches of our local military community participated in one-on-one team challenges. Teams from several categories won trophies for having the most riders!
For a Corporate Challenge Team, simply volunteer to be your team’s captain and email or fax this Corporate Challenge Entry Form to email@example.com or 719-385-5419 to let us know your company will be participating. You’ll be responsible to recruit members for your team, and have each member register online for their individual free breakfast. Be sure to tell all your riders to select their tickets with your company name and/or specific unit listed on “ticket type”.
If you would like to challenge a specific company or entity (example: the City of Colorado Springs-vs-El Paso County-vs-Colorado Springs Utilities; Army-VS-Air Force; CSFD-VS-CSPD), first make sure they want to participate in the challenge. Then, simply volunteer to be your team’s captain and email or fax this One-On-One Team Challenge Entry Form to firstname.lastname@example.org or 719-385-5419 to let us know who is being challenged. Recruit members for your team, and have each member register online for their individual free breakfast. Be sure to tell all your riders to select their tickets with your company name and/or specific unit listed on “ticket type”.
Register for the FREE Mountain Metro Rides Bike to Work Day Breakfast by June 18 and you'll be entered into a drawing for a chance to win some cool bike commute gear. The last day to register is June 24 at 11:55 p.m.
If you are participating in Bike to Work Day, you are also eligible to register for the National Bike Challenge as an individual or with your organization. Your total mileage for the event and beyond that, through September 30, 2014, will count toward city, state and national totals. Prizes are awarded monthly and at the end of the challenge.
To make cycling events come to fruition and remain free to the public, community support is vital. Many volunteers are needed each year to plan events, staff the annual Mountain Metro Rides Bike to Work Day, and staff the FREE Bicycle Valets that are provided at large community events. Without volunteers it would be impossible to execute these events.
If you are committed to encourage cycling for personal and community health, alternative transportation, recreation, and sustainability, we encourage you to become a volunteer.
