Overview

The Fillmore Bridge Project seeks to evaluate the deteriorating bridges on Fillmore Street over Monument Creek, the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail, and the Union Pacific Railroad, and seeks to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety along Fillmore and provide trail connection(s) to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail.

Routine maintenance was recently completed on the bridges over Monument Creek and the Union Pacific Railroad, just east of I-25. Maintenance included repairs to the bridge decks, waterproofing, and an asphalt overlay. Ongoing maintenance like this keeps the bridges serviceable until they can be replaced in the near future.

The City conducts visual inspections of the bridges every 90 days and completes routine inspections every two years, with the most recent results showing the bridges are in fair condition and safe for the traveling public.
