The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) concluded 2024 with 102,621 enplaned passengers in December, bringing the total for the year to 1,239,094. This represents an increase of over five percent compared to the previous year, setting a new record for COS. In 2023, the airport had already recorded the highest number of enplanements since 1999, and this year it has surpassed that milestone. Furthermore, the number of seats available in the market increased by 5.4 percent compared to 2023, and the average load factor rose slightly to 81.4 percent.

"It's no secret that the airport had a strong year last year, and we continue to exceed our enplanement numbers. It's a fantastic way to close out the year, and with new flights being added, we're forecasting similar success for 2025,” said Greg Phillips, the Director of Aviation.

In December, a total of 206,773 passengers passed through the airport, representing a 2.6 percent decrease year-over-year, alongside a 0.9 percent reduction in available seats.

Among its notable achievements in 2024, COS proudly announced its inaugural international route to Cancun with Southwest Airlines and the construction of a new Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility, which is scheduled for completion before the June launch of this service. Additionally, Allegiant Airlines revealed they will return to COS in February 2025 with three new routes, further enhancing travel options for passengers. Moreover, the concourse modernization project, ElevateCOS, has successfully completed the first two phases and is currently advancing into phase three of the project.
