On Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 7:20PM, Officers responded to a call of a stabbing in the 1200 block of Dancing Horse Drive.  Officers found two adults needing immediate medical attention for life-threatening injuries.  These two adults were transported to a local hospital. One adult female, identified as Deborah Parker-Lykins, succumbed to her injuries. Mrs. Parker-Lykins death is being investigated as the 35th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2022.

An adult male was given medical treatment at a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Monday, September 26, 2022. His identity is being withheld at this time pending the completion of the Coroner’s Office’s determination of cause and manner of death.  While the Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of his death, this victim’s death is being investigated as the 36th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2022. CSPD investigated 25 homicides at this time last year.

On the night of September 22, 2022, Officers arrested Cody Parker, who was charged with the murder of Ms. Parker-Lykins.  Cody Parker is a 31-year-old male and is the son of Ms. Parker-Lykins. Mr. Parker was taken to the El Paso County Jail after being treated for self-inflicted injuries.  Officers located another adult male on scene who is a witness.  He was not injured during this incident.  There are no other suspects and there is not a danger to the community. 

The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating this crime.  Charges for Mr. Parker will be amended to include the murder of the second victim.

An adult male was given medical treatment at a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Officers arrested an adult male who was charged with Murder of the female and Aggravated Assault for the male. The arrestee is a 31-year-old male and is a family member of the decedent. The arrestee was taken to the El Paso County Jail after being treated for self-inflicted injuries. Officers located another adult male on scene who is a witness. He was not injured during this incident. There are no other suspects and there is not a danger to the community. The Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating this crime.
