What is the Spanish Citizens’ Academy?
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) and the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) Spanish Citizens’ Academy educates the Spanish speaking citizens about the duties and responsibilities of its deputies and police officers, policies and procedures of the departments, and the citizen’s role in the interaction of citizens and law enforcement officials through a series of classes. In addition to helping the citizens better understand local law enforcement, it in turn helps the departments better understand the citizens and their concerns.
